Vogel advances to State Finals

Wabash’s Dereck Vogel finished 14th in Saturday’s New Haven Cross County Semistate in a time of 16:15, punching his ticket to the state finals.

Wabash finished eighth as a team, mission out on a chance to advance as a team.

Southwood’s Braden Sweet finished 28th at 16:39 to cap his sophomore year.

Wabash’s Koby Prater and Zackary Reed finished neck and neck. Prater took 43rd in 16:50.4, and Reed followed closely behind in 44th in 16:50.6.

Teammate Aaron Nickerson finished 64th in a time of 17:04.

And, Blakley Cole finished 100th in 17:27 to round out the Apache leaders.

Andrew Burns led Northfield with 116th place finish in 17:38.

On the girls side, Northfield’s Alyssa McKillip led the county with a 40th place finish in 19:59.

Wabash’s Whitney Working followed in 108th in 21:21.
