Boys sectional pairings announced

The IHSAA boys sectional basketball pairings were drawn on Sunday in Indianapolis.

All four Wabash County teams are in Sectional 37 hosted by Oak Hill. It starts on Tuesday Feb. 28, with Lewis Cass (14-6) playing Manchester (6-14)  in a 7 p.m. start. Then on Wednesday March 1, at 6 p.m., Wabash(8-12) plays Oak Hill (17-3) followed by Northfield (8-12) against Southwood (16-4).

Friday, March 3, pairs Rochester (4-16) against the Cass/Manchester winner at 6 p.m. followed by the winners of both Wednesday games. The Championship game is Saturday the 4th at 7:30 p.m. Wabash WebTV will be there for all of the action.

This is also the final week of the regular season. Usually the last home game is reserved for Senior Night celebrations that will make the event somewhat bittersweet for players and parents alike.

On Tuesday, Southwood travels to Eastbrook, Northfield is at Huntington North, Wabash entertains Eastern and Manchester plays its final game in front of the home crowd against Northwood. On Friday each team closes out the regular schedule as Manchester travels to Goshen, Bluffton will be at Southwood, Northfield entertains Oak Hill and Peru will be at Wabash.

The Wabash WebTV sports team will be at Wabash on Friday night to broadcast the battle between the Apaches and the Peru Tigers. Air time will be around 7:30 p.m.
