Jack Dean Love, 85, Wabash, died at 12:20 p.m., Thursday, July 3, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born Feb. 16, 1929 in Cloverdale, to George Edward and Dora (Richey) Love.
Jack was a 1947 graduate of Spencer High School. He married Virginia Coon in Wabash, on June 30, 1957; she died Aug. 21, 1993. He was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Jack retired from Delco in 1991 after 23 years. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. He also was a life-member of the American Legion Post 15 and was a past member of the Izaac Walton League. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, cooking, and gardening. Mostly, he loved his family.
He is survived by his three children, Keith E. Love, Wabash, Robert Dean (Melissa) Love, Abbeville, S.C., and Elizabeth Ann (Kurt) Brakenhamer, Wabash; five grandchildren, Wesley Love, Greenwood, S.C., Amy Marie (Andy) Oswalt, Wabash, Rebecca Louise (Michael) Griffy, Russiaville, Ginny Elizabeth Brackenhamer, Wabash, and Danielle Love Hanson, Abbeville; his brother, Jerry Love, Leesburg, Fla.; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, nine brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services were held July 7, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Rev. Phil Lake officiating. Burial followed in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.
