Ready to 'Go' - Community joins together to raise funds for school safety

School classrooms and offices around Wabash County will have “Go Bags” this school year, thanks to the efforts of several groups and individuals.

Wabash Assistant Fire Chief Andy Oswalt and Wabash School Resource Officer (SRO) Sam Hipskind spearheaded the drive to raise funds for the bags.

The bags contain a wide variety of supplies teachers and other school personnel may need in event of an emergency. The supplies include things such as gauze bandages, tourniquets, rubber gloves, to scissors, flashlights and rubber gloves. It also contains a clipboard to hold such things as class lists to help educators keep track of students in the event of an emergency.
